2. Message Types

DocNag sends the following types of SMS messages:

DocNag does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages.

3. How Consent Is Collected

Consent for SMS messaging is obtained through the following process:

  1. A bookkeeper adds a client to their DocNag account, including the client's phone number
  2. The bookkeeper confirms they have informed the client about DocNag SMS reminders
  3. The client receives an initial welcome message explaining the service and how to opt out
  4. By continuing to receive messages (not replying STOP), the client consents to transactional SMS

Important: Bookkeepers are responsible for informing their clients that they will receive SMS document reminders via DocNag before adding them to the platform. The bookkeeper confirms this during client onboarding in the web application.

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the number of active document requests. Typical frequency is 1–4 messages per month per client. During peak periods (e.g., tax season), frequency may increase to 2–3 messages per week.

5. Opt-Out Instructions

Recipients can opt out of SMS messages at any time:

6. Costs

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. DocNag does not charge recipients for SMS messages.

7. Supported Carriers

DocNag supports messaging to all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others.
